Terms and Conditions


“Customer” means a customer who purchases one or more products on the Website
“Products” means a product offered on the Website
“Retailer” means the individual retailer advertising products for sale on the Website
“Website” means the website
“We” means The Jersey Evening Post Limited

These terms and conditions govern the offering for sale of Products by the Retailer on the Website and subsequent purchase of those Products by the Customer.  Jersey Evening Post Limited operates the Website which acts as an interface between the customer and the various Retailers offering the Products. These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between The Jersey Evening Post Limited, whose registered address is Guiton House, Five Oaks, St Saviour, Jersey, and you, the Customer. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before purchasing any Products. By ordering through you signify your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Orders for Products from the Website are accepted on the following terms and conditions: -

1. Accuracy of Website Information

We have made every effort to ensure that information on our website is accurate. No warranty is however given as to the accuracy of the Product information, which is provided and uploaded to the Website by the Retailer.

2. Consumer and Statutory Rights

The statutory rights of the consumer are unaffected by these terms and conditions.

It is the responsibility of all Retailers providing Products for sale on to recognise, understand and comply with all relevant legislation, including The Supply of Goods and Services (Jersey) Law 2009, The Distance Selling (Jersey) Law 2007, the Price and Charge Indicators (Jersey) Law 2008 and the Goods and Service Tax (Jersey) Law 2007. No responsibility will be taken by The Jersey Evening Post in this regard.

It is also the responsibility of all Retailers to comply with all copyright issues pertaining to the advertising of products for sales.

4. Order Process

An order is placed by pressing the continue button at the end of the checkout process. Jersey Loves Shopping will send you an order acknowledgement email detailing the products you have ordered and the total charge for these products. When your product is ready for collection, or has been shipped, you will receive a dispatch confirmation e-mail.

Order acceptance and completion of the contract between Jersey Loves Shopping and you, the Customer, will take place on the dispatch to you of the products ordered.

5. Price and Payment

All prices on the website for transactional retailers are quoted exclusive of Jersey Goods and Services tax, which is currently charged at 5% and will be shown as a separate charge within the checkout process.

For UK customers it is our policy that VAT be added during the checkout process. For all other jurisdictions other local sales or import taxes may be payable on delivery.

Payment will be taken by credit/debit card through our payment service provider, PayPoint. This will be done when the Retailer accepts your order and you have received a dispatch confirmation e-mail.  

6. Delivery Time

Your order will normally be ready for collection or despatch from the Retailer within 2 days of receiving your order, unless notified otherwise.

7. Order Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled by the Customer up to 7 working days after receipt or collection.  Working days exclude Saturdays and Sundays.

To cancel an order please e-mail, or alternatively contact the Retailer direct. The goods must be returned to the Retailer in good order as soon as possible. Any costs associated with the return of the goods are the responsibility of the Customer and will not be refunded by the Retailer.

Please note orders in respect certain goods cannot be cancelled, these include items which are personalised, perishable (including flowers) or by their nature unreturnable (eg books, swimwear, etc).

8. Faulty Goods

In the event that the goods supplied are deemed faulty please e-mail, or alternatively contact the Retailer direct.

9. Refunds

These will normally be made as a credit to your payment card. Please note it can take 3-4 working days for any refunds processed to appear on your card statement.

10. Our right to vary these terms and conditions

We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time.

11. Limitation of Liability

Our liability to you for our breaking these terms and conditions is limited to refunding any money you have already paid for the Products which you have not received from the Retailer or that the Retailer deems due to you in the event of the return of the goods.

We do not accept liability for any errors and omissions however will endeavour to do our best to correct any errors and omissions as soon as practicable after we become aware of them.

12. Privacy

The Jersey Evening Post respects your privacy and collects only the information necessary to facilitate the provision of the Products through the Website. All information is kept confidential and secure.  For added security all payment pages are hosted and processed by PayPoint. No record is kept by The Jersey Evening Post Limited of your card details.
